Monster in the Mist.v2 (Bill,
Thomas, Jan, Nathan): Halloween is rapidly approaching. Rumors are running
wild of a monster in Hemenway Park. Meanwhile, a strange fog shrouds Lake Mead
in mystery. As if the below-freezing nights are not enough! More eerie with the
occasional blaring of a noise from the TV tower near Charlie Gate south of
Boulder (cross between a foghorn and a sick cow mooing).
Dog Days of Summer.v1 (Bill,
Leslie, Mike, Bryn, Jan): The last days of summer are here. School starts back
up in two weeks and there is little respite from the long, hot days. Kids all
over Boulder City swarm the arcade, the movie theater, and the beach in a
desperate attempt to stay cool. After a wild time at summer camp, the kids look
forward to a calm, relaxing break before the drudgery of school begins. Strange
rumors of aggressive animal attacks are going around town, but it's probably
nothing.
Camp Big Lake.v1 (Bill,
Leslie, Mike): The kids of Boulder City are being sent off to summer
camp! Two weeks of archery, canoeing, horseback riding, and swimming on Lake
Mead await. The kids excitedly studied the camp layout and activity schedule,
already planning their weeks’ worth of fun.
Horror Movie Mayhem.v1 (Bill,
Alex, Julian, Mike): The adults are acting very strange around town. All of
a sudden, dad doesn’t approve of the weekly D&D game. Mom says you can’t
rent ‘Day of the Dead’ even though she promised to get it for you last week.
The principal at school has banned all rock music. Suddenly, the movie theater
is not offering to screen ‘Aliens’ anymore. What gives???
Our Friends the Machines.v2
(Bill, Alex, Kent, Pascal): Local Loop designers have created a hot new line of toys, Transmorphers, transforming
robots to be manufactured right here in Boulder City! A boost to the job market
and local economy. Hyped since Christmas, in commercials, cartoon show,
and comic books, the kids have been saving to buy their own. But perhaps there's “more than meets the eye” to these new
toys. Now Spring break, the toys are finally hitting the shelves at the local
toy store.
Snow Day.v2 (Leslie, Mike,
Alex, Jen): The day before Christmas break has all the kids in
town glued to the TV, anxious for a snow day. Meanwhile, strange things are
afoot around town. Pets and people are going missing, Mom says something weird
is going on at The Loop, and Dad is worried about the pack of wolves rumored to be
roaming around the outskirts of town. Can a rag-tag group of kids find out
what's going on before it's too late?
